Memorable ArtWalk Moments
A contest was held among our staff and volunteers to collect
“The Most Memorable ArtWalk Moments” -- personal stories
that help defined the Aurora ArtWalk experiance.
The entries (click here) have been reviewed, and the winner of the Memorable
Moment contest is
Irene Pelan with her story of “The Buzz on the Bridge."
The contest's first runner-up is
John Jerrard and his recounting of a “Joyful
Reunion on the Sidewalk” and the second runner-up is Delia Nila Basile
and
her
entry
entitled “Oh What a Night!” in which describes the
evening as, “like a
climax that
never ends!”

Don't just believe the words of our impassioned
volunteers, read what some
of the local press
are saying about the recent Aurora ArtWalk...
We want to give thanks to all the artists, venue owners, and
of course "Dynomo Dee" and her corps of "Vivacious Volunteers!"

Andre Salles, a reporter for the Aurora Beacon News wrote, “If you missed
Friday's ArtWalk, you missed meeting the heart of Aurora's arts community,
the people who help give the city its character and soul.” We'd like to
thank Andre for those kind words, and encourage everyone to join
us at the next Aurora ArtWalk on Friday, October 9th, 2009!

The Aurora ArtWalk is being produced by the "Cultural Creatives" -- an ad-hoc group of
downtown artists, business and property owners with a common interest in encouraging
an arts-friendly environment. We believe that a strong arts presence will make
downtown Aurora, Illinois a place where people want to live, work, and play.
