The eighth installment in a continuing series of highly anticipated and hugely successful Aurora ArtWalks—“Some like it Hot”—will take place Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 from 7 to 10pm along Broadway in the heart of downtown Aurora. Artists, musicians, volunteers and venues are being sought for the popular downtown event. To be considered to exhibit or perform, applications must be received by Sept. 5, 2012. (Apply below)
Created and planned by the Cultural Creatives, Inc., the eighth Aurora ArtWalk is expected to be filled with regional artisans painting, sculpting, drawing, reading, dancing, singing, and making music. The public is invited to enjoy great art and music, as well as experience some “HOT” exhibitions. This FREE event will be hosted by multiple venues on Broadway. Each site will feature a combination of music, performance arts, visual arts, exhibits and light refreshments.
The June ArtWalk, “A Work in Progress,” saw outstanding attendance with thousands of patrons and art lovers strolling along Downer Place and Stolp Avenue. This time, Broadway will be targeted for the latest version of this popular art tour. Venues include the Aurora Transportation Center, Two Brothers Brewery, Jake’s Bagels & Deli, Aurora Regional Fire Museum & La Quinta de los Reyes.

The ArtWalk is a juried exhibition with cash prizes awarded for Best Visual Artist and Best Performance Artist. The judging panel includes artists from various disciplines. Patrons attending the ArtWalk will be asked to participate in determining a People’s Choice Award. Ballots will be available at all venues to vote. Artists may complete an application (see below). Application deadline is Sept. 5.
